McMahon Angus Bulls

All our black and red angus bulls are fed and run on our Saskatchewan farm, and each spring we bring our bulls and replacement heifers to our annual bull sale.

A Better Herd

It’s our belief that more information about a breeders’ program results in a better herd of cattle. Our bulls feed on a diverse landscape of grasses, and the scope of our pasture land means we’re able to run them separately in multiple breeding fields. We strive to produce moderate, hardworking cows.

Our Breeding Process

We do not use AI or ET technology. It’s important to us that cows wean a high percentage of their body weight while rebreeding. We want our herd to be bred for calving ease, without sacrificing growth. Sound feet and udders are a must. Acknowledging the importance of a herd’s first year of life, we look to source genetics from breeders who share similar goals for long-term success.

Our Bulls

Point Break

Earlier this year, we made the decision to purchase two outstanding heifer bulls from Wilbar Cattle Co. here in Saskatchewan. We are pleased to call these magnificent creatures ours.

This boy here is one of them. He’s got the size we like, the feet of a champion, and he also carries the red gene.  This nice young Bull will be a great asset for our herd keeping our commitment to producing top quality well rounded angus.

This is Wilbar Point Break 560l. He’s got it all.

HLC CSI LEGACY 373M

This bull is a serious contender in the industry. Sired by SAV Scale House 0845, and our most influential donor, LC Erica 561G. Scale House was the top selling bull out of the 2021 SAV bull sale at $275,000 purchased by Voss Angus. He is sired by Marcys Scale Crusher who goes back to Upward 307R, who was, and continues to be a breed leader for many of today’s most desirable traits. His dam is a full sister to Renown and Resource, brothers who have left a tremendous impact on the Angus breed. Erica 561G has once again put a set of exceptional sons front and centre. Her consistency to produce high quality cattle sired by multiple sires is remarkable.
This bulls breeding practically speaks for itself.
